Maruti Suzuki is the first company to sell one million CNG vehicles globally

Maruti Suzuki India is one of the manufacturers in India that offers the widest range of CNG car options to clients.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited recently revealed that they had sold one million S-CNG automobiles in total. In the CNG market, the Indian automaker offers a wide range of options, including the recently announced new models.

Maruti's S-CNG vehicles come in a variety of shapes and sizes, including hatchbacks, MPVs, and sedans. Vehicles such as the Alto, S-Presso, WagonR, Celerio, Dzire, Ertiga, Eeco, Super Carry, and Tour-S cater to these categories.

The Indian automaker is supporting the government's efforts to increase the adoption of S-CNG vehicles in India, with the goal of reducing oil imports by increasing natural gas's part of the country's energy basket from 6.2 percent to 15 percent by 2030.

The carmaker use Dual Interdependent ECUs with an Intelligent Injection system that communicate with one another in real time to offer an appropriate air-fuel ratio during combustion for efficient fuel consumption.

The vehicles also contain stainless steel CNG pipes with innovative ferrule joints that provide corrosion resistance and a leak-proof design, as well as a Microswitch that guarantees the vehicle is turned off and does not start while refilling.

They also contain a sophisticated twin solenoid system that provides added protection in the event of a gas leak. During a gas leak, it automatically shuts the fuel and releases high-pressure CNG directly into the atmosphere.

"Today, there are already over 3,700 CNG stations making CNG more accessible to consumers," Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, remarked of the milestone. We expect demand for CNG vehicles to remain strong, given the government's goal of 10,000 CNG stations across the country in the next few years. CNG will play a larger and more significant role as a technology in decreasing carbon emissions from a large number of passenger vehicles."
